Han solo carbonite chocolate mold12/2/2023 Typically when the boys ask me what my secret ingredient is with whatever we are eating, I usually sarcastically reply with “love”. Even if you aren’t a Star Wars fan, watching the expressions on both my kid’s faces when the chocolate came out of the molds, made this candy making experience so worth it. We all decided that we enjoyed the candy so much that we were going to make a few batches and keep them for ourselves. Whoever invented the combination of chocolate and hazelnut is a genius. The creamy Nutella center was rich and delicious. The boys were rushing me to take pictures for the blog so they could dig in and try them. None of us could hardly wait for the chocolate to be set and ready. Scrape off all the excess chocolate and place back in the fridge for the last 10 minutes. Stick it back in the fridge for another 10 minutes to harden.įinally, Add more of the tempered chocolate on top and make sure to fill each mold all the way to the top. Look at my son’s intense look as he squeezes the Nutella into the mold! He is serious about this candy making. Don’t forget to leave room for more chocolate on top and the sides to seal the candy. Next fill the molds with a little bit of Nutella. Place in fridge to harden for 10 minutes. Scrape the tops of the molds and edges to remove any leftover chocolate. Once chocolate was melted we poured it into the molds and shook off the excess chocolate. While tempering the chocolate, we brushed the chocolate mold with the silver candy dust. Then I tempered the chocolate over a double boiler until completely melted and it reached a smooth consistency. I first filled my piping back with Nutella. Once I had all my supplies and tools, I was ready to give it a go. I bought some tools and silver sugar dust to paint the chocolates to look just like the wall in the movie. When I told the boys what we were creating, they screamed “Yeah!”, clapped their hands and jumped up and down. The birthday boy LOVES Nutella so I decided to create a Nutella Stuffed Star Wars Chocolate Candy, click on recipe title to link to the recipe. I’ve never made chocolate candies before and have always wanted to try it. I was instantly excited to create something with these molds and determined to test my skills and play chocolatier for a day. I found these really cool food molds in the shape of Han Solo frozen in the carbonite wall from the movie The Empire Strikes Back. It is easy for me to connect with the boys through food and even easier if the food is Star Wars themed! You don’t have to do anything extravagant or break the bank to create a memory, you just need to find something to connect with. Rather than my focus be on highlighting a local business today, this blog is about the true value of simply spending time together with the ones you love. Honestly, it is the little things that enhance my kitchen experience like hearing their little giggles, sneaking a quick kiss, getting nervous that an eggshell is going to land in the batter when they crack it, listening to them negotiate on which spatula and bowl they are going to lick first and watching their eyes light up when they see a recipe come together. Spending quality time with my boys is always a highlight but cooking together in the kitchen is one of my favorite things to do. As I get organized for my son’s Star Wars themed birthday party, I realize how much I enjoy creating such a special event to celebrate another year of his life and to see that adorable smile on his face when he understands all the effort that was put into his special day.
